Auditor of State’s Office Awarded for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

Columbus – The Auditor of State’s office received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for fiscal year 2015.

“Ohio’s taxpayers hold this office to a high standard of excellence,” Auditor Yost said. “This award is further proof that the professionals in this office continue to meet those expectations every day.”

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the certificate to the Auditor of the State of Ohio for its CAFR for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2015. The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

An impartial panel determined that the Auditor of State’s CAFR meets the high standards of the GFOA’s CAFR program, which include demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the report.
