Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Columbus – Auditor of State Dave Yost recently swore in Andrew Bodzak as the new investigator in the Special Investigations Unit for the Youngstown and Akron-Canton areas.

“Andrew’s past experience and service to the citizens of Ohio make him the right person for the job,” Auditor Yost said.  “I know he will continue to serve as a hard-working advocate for Ohio’s taxpayers in rooting out fraud and abuse.”

With over 30 years of law enforcement experience, Bodzak served as Commander of the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission.  He was a member of the Youngstown-area Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force and Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force for 10 years.  Bodzak also previously served as an instructor for the Ohio Police Officers Training Academy.

The Auditor of State’s Special Investigations Unit is comprised of peace officers who work to reduce and recover the loss of public funds due to theft, embezzlement or fraud, with a priority to those cases that constitute criminal conduct.  The unit works closely with local, state and federal government as well as law enforcement officials to combat public corruption in Ohio.
