Statement from Auditor of State Dave Yost

Columbus – The following statement may be attributed to Auditor of State Dave Yost regarding this morning’s conviction of former Henry County Commissioner Richard Myers:

“Mixing personal and public interests is a recipe for a criminal conviction,” Auditor Yost said.  “Justice was done, and all Ohioans owe Special Prosecutor Bob Smith a thank you for a job well done.”



The Auditor of State’s office, one of five independently elected statewide offices in Ohio, is responsible for auditing more than 5,800 state and local government agencies.  Under the direction of Auditor Dave Yost, the office also provides financial services to local governments, investigates and prevents fraud in public agencies and promotes transparency in government.
