Tuesday, December 10, 2013

Columbus – The following statement may be attributed to Auditor of State Dave Yost concerning former Columbus City School District Area Treasurer Tina Dorsey’s plea of guilty to a third degree felony charge of theft in office:

“I’m gratified she has accepted responsibility for her actions,” Auditor Yost said.  “I anticipate the court will properly weigh the violation of the public trust in considering an appropriate sentence.”

The Auditor of State’s office, one of five independently elected statewide offices in Ohio, is responsible for auditing more than 5,800 state and local government agencies.  Under the direction of Auditor Dave Yost, the office also provides financial services to local governments, investigates and prevents fraud in public agencies and promotes transparency in government.
