Monday, January 11, 2016

Columbus – The following statement may be attributed to Auditor of State Dave Yost concerning the sentencing of former Perrysburg Exempted Village School District employee Eric Whitson:

“Ten years is hard time by anyone’s standards,” Auditor Yost said.  “But in the case of this huge theft, the sentence fits the crime, and I applaud Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson and Judge Reeve Kelsey for securing justice for the students and families of Perrysburg Schools.”

The Auditor of State’s office, one of five independently elected statewide offices in Ohio, is responsible for auditing more than 5,800 state and local government agencies.  Under the direction of Auditor Dave Yost, the office also provides financial services to local governments, investigates and prevents fraud in public agencies and promotes transparency in government.
