Columbus – The following statement may be attributed to Auditor of State Dave Yost concerning the Ohio House’s passage of House Bill 384:

“Performance audits get results – we’ve already provided more than a billion dollars in recommended savings in Ohio,” Auditor Yost said.  “Colleges and universities should receive these benefits as well.  I appreciate the good work of Representatives Schaffer and Duffey on this bill, and I look forward to working with the Senate to make it law.”

The Auditor of State’s office, one of five independently elected statewide offices in Ohio, is responsible for auditing more than 5,800 state and local government agencies.  Under the direction of Auditor Dave Yost, the office also provides financial services to local governments, investigates and prevents fraud in public agencies and promotes transparency in government.
