AOS Consulting EngagementAOS engaged KPMG LLP (KPMG) to assist the management with conducting an assessment of AOSs use of technology and data and analytics (D&A) considering the dimensions of process, people, and technology. AOS is one of the largest state audit offices in the country, responsible for conducting financial audits of more than 5,900 public offices in Ohio. KPMG studied our current state, including the AOS tools, people, and processes we currently utilize in data analysis for external financial statement audits. Additionally, KMPG advised AOS on the emerging technological trends in external audits, including the application of D&A techniques, tools used in the audit industry, possible legislative changes required, and implementation or outcome expectations. KPMG compared AOSs D&A strategy, D&A resource capability, D&A processes and procedures, and audit processes and procedures against leading audit practices around the use of technology and D&A. This assessment was completed through interviews with the Financial Audit and Information Systems Audit (ISA) resources and a review of documentation for completed audits and other audit projects. Overall, KPMG recognized AOS as an exemplary State Auditor organization. EfficientlEffectivelTransparent12'
