b'Ohio Auditor of State 2021 Annual ReportInformation TechnologyInformation Technology (IT) develops and maintains the technology used by the Auditor of States office. A significant number of Auditor of State employees regularly work off-site, so it is vital they have convenient and timely access to the offices computer network. The IT Department ensures the offices computer systems function properly and all employees are able to access the information they need to efficiently perform their duties.During FY 2021, IT continued implementing tools to help staff work remotely. The department completed the following projects:Added multifactor authentication to our Office 365 environment to improve security.Rolled out Microsofts OneDrive for file-sharing and collaboration.Improved eServices by adding secure file upload capabilities for audit clients to upload audit documents.Added call in numbers to Microsoft Teams meetings for participants without reliable Internet connections.Completely automated the Clerk of the Bureau function which previously required a staff of three individuals. The Clerk of the Bureau process is how the office finalizes and releases audits.Uniform Accounting NetworkThe Uniform Accounting Network (UAN) is a financial management system designed for Ohios local governments. The office provides townships, villages, libraries, special districts, and cities with a complete computer system, along with training and support.The UAN application comprises five modules:AccountingPayrollBudgetInventoryCemeteryThe Auditor of States office provides training online, on-demand, and in our Columbus office.UAN has increased its client base in the past year from 2,043 to 2,066 local governments.
