Auditor Yost Names William J. Owen as Chief Legal Counsel
Columbus - Ohio Auditor of State Dave Yost has made several key leadership appointments, including William J. Owen as Chief Legal Counsel.
Owen most recently served as first assistant prosecuting attorney in the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office. He has also been law enforcement director for the Ohio Attorney General and an assistant prosecuting attorney in the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office. Owen is a graduate of The Ohio State University and Capital University School of Law.
“Bill is tough and experienced. I know his skills are well-suited for the aggressive agenda we have set for the Auditor’s office.” Yost said.
The Auditor of State is one of five independently elected offices under the Ohio Constitution. Auditor Yost’s office is responsible for auditing over 5,600 state and local government agencies. Staff also works in partnership with state and local governments to deal effectively with financial, accounting and budgetary issues.
