Columbus – A recent financial audit of the city of Louisville (Stark County) by Auditor of State Dave Yost’s office has returned a clean audit report. The city’s excellent record keeping has earned it the Auditor of State Award with Distinction.
“Good finance is important to everything government does. We can't expect good decisions by the mayor, good management by the directors, or sound budgetary decisions by council unless the books are clean and accurate,” Auditor Yost said. “The city of Louisville has earned this award.”

The Auditor of State’s office, one of five independently elected statewide offices in Ohio, is responsible for auditing more than 5,800 state and local government agencies. Under the direction of Auditor Dave Yost, the office also provides financial services to local governments, investigates and prevents fraud in public agencies and promotes transparency in government.
