Statement from Auditor of State Dave Yost
Columbus – The following statement may be attributed to Auditor of State Dave Yost in response to former Perrysburg Exempted Village School District employee Eric Whitson’s guilty plea today.
“I applaud Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson and Judge Reeve Kelsey for taking a firm stance in this case,” Auditor Yost said. “The plea deal reflects the seriousness of the crime and the breach of public trust.”
The Auditor of State’s office, one of five independently elected statewide offices in Ohio, is responsible for auditing more than 5,800 state and local government agencies. Under the direction of Auditor Dave Yost, the office also provides financial services to local governments, investigates and prevents fraud in public agencies and promotes transparency in government.
