Statement Regarding Request for ECOT Subpoena

Friday, May 4, 2018

Columbus – The office of Auditor of State Dave Yost issued the following statement regarding Franklin County Court Judge Michael J. Holbrook’s request for a subpoena to protect certain information on the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow’s equipment:

We respect Judge Holbrook’s request for a subpoena to preserve information on specific ECOT computer equipment and will provide one immediately. The need for this protection arose because some of the school’s computer equipment has been designated for disposal on May 9, and some information may be needed in the event this becomes a criminal manner. None of the information the Auditor’s office is requesting resides on the computers of former students. We are pleased the data will be preserved.
