State auditors issued 414 public records-related citations to 357 public entities in calendar year 2016, Auditor of State Dave Yost announced today, the first day of Sunshine Week.

Auditor of State Dave Yost reviewed public records policies and procedures of 48 government entities, giving recommendations to 19 for improvements.
The test of 20 counties and cities for Sunshine Law compliance this year returned a mixed bag of results – with 40 percent having weaknesses in their public records policies and procedures.
