Finding for Recovery Issued Against Closed Columbus Charter School

COLUMBUS — A finding for recovery of $46,131.35 was issued Tuesday against a closed Columbus charter school that received more state funding than its final student data supported.
The finding against Eagle Charter Schools of Ohio was included in an audit of the school’s finances from July 1, 2023, through Dec. 21, 2024.

Eagle Charter Schools of Ohio operated in Columbus until its closure in December 2024.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, as part of the final reconciliation process, identified $46,131.35 in funding that the school should not have received, based on its final student data.
The school was notified of the issue in May 2025.
