WebGAAP

WebGAAP was designed by the Auditor of State’s Office to assist local governments in converting year-end cash basis financial information into financial reports that conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

It is an internet-based application that utilizes journals and trial balances to generate individual fund statements, combining statements, and combined statements.

The system includes charts of accounts for schools, counties, and cities, and can be customized to accommodate other entity types. It is designed to generate governmental GAAP statements but can also be used for Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting (OCBOA) statements.

WebGAAP was made available to schools in July 2003 and to cities and counties in January 2004. In 2026, the application was refreshed to improve functionality and modernize features while maintaining the underlying system.
